After working internationally in the field of software and IT for 20 years, in 2018 I decided to quit my corporate job and start a new chapter of my life. Now I want to experience a more simple lifestyle, I'm interested in sustainable living (and travel) and anything that helps to minimize our footprint.
I have already visited over 70 countries and, while I still love to travel, I want to do it more slowly, not collecting stamps on my passport, but experiencing life as a local, sometimes volunteering, and hopefully making new friends along the way. I'm an easygoing person who does not like to be at the center of attention but enjoys spending time with others. In the Myers-Briggs model my type is INFJ.
My philosophy is: treat others the way you want them to treat you. Always remember we are all connected. Cherish simplicity. Search for your own balance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me CS is primarily a way to get connected with other travelers who like to make new friends from different countries. The possibility to actually get/give accomodation is not the main point, though of course it is a relevant part of the experience.

I am not always active as host because I am often away from home, but happy to meet CSers whenever I can.

I believe in CS as a great way "to meet friends you haven't seen yet"

Interests

Traveling, photography, healthy food, spending time with friends, wine-tasting, sailing... ideally all of the above combined. But also good books and movies. And music of course, can't live without that.
When I was younger I loved basketball and snowboarding, now I'm into cycling and some yoga. I also practice meditation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finding strength and courage to go through hard times is the most amazing thing that most of us do.
But apart from that... the hang-glide flight in Rio de Janeiro was really cool!
Also, feeding a baby elephant in SriLanka and playing with lion cubs in SouthAfrica.
In September 2018 I walked over 500Km on the way to Santiago de Compostela.
From June 2000 to July 2023 I cycled 15.000Km, almost entirely in Italy (but soon I will do some bike touring abroad...)
