ABOUT ME

**Last updated: June 29, 2016**

Please check our "couch" description section for availability info.

We are Claudia and Dan.
We WERE a kick-ass duo...but now we are a kick-ass TRIO!
In mid-2015, we welcomed a new addition to our family and are now exploring the world of parenthood together. It's been the biggest challenge of our lives but definitely rewarding. We are keen to show our little guy the world and have already gone traveling with him and shown him the awesomeness that is Couchsurfing!

As for us: Claudia works at an outdoor gear store, and Dan is a Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing) instructor. We're both passionate about staying active, indulging in craft beer, and exploring the world!

An adventure we had before we had a kid was both contracting Dengue Fever while travelling in SE Asia! We even got to celebrate our first anniversary in the hospital together. So. Much. Fun!

More about each of us below :)

------
Claudia:

Silly, outgoing, and adventurous. My passions are music, photography, and physical activity. I love meeting new people and am always itching to travel :)
I'm also pretty good at Mario Kart 64 and my favourite colour is green!
For me, life is richest and most fulfilling when I am connecting with other people and experiencing new things. Sprinkle this with a healthy dose of seeing friends and family, stoking my creative side, and spending time outdoors, and I'm as happy as can be!

------

Dan:
Stuff I love to do - Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, play guitar, go to concerts, make my own beer, read a lot, philosophize and debate (in a friendly way, of course)

Huge fan of music, movies and martial arts. Known to play the odd video game and drink a delicious craft beer from time to time.
Funny, open minded and genuine (so I'm told).

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to take things too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Claudia started hosting/surfing back in 2009 and has been involved with the Vancouver CS community's meet-ups and organizing of small events.
Now that we have our own place together, we have started hosting and hope to continue with this project both at home and abroad!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've been fortunate enough to host *and* surf with a handful of really amazing, friendly, and generous people! We've had nothing but good experiences so far, and can't wait to continue with this project :)

Music, Movies, and Books

(Claudia)
Music has always been a huge part of my life. I enjoy most genres, though I prefer rocking out to punk rock, indie, ska, and some noisier/heavier bands. I love going to live shows, and am always curious about new bands.
Some bands I love: Alexisonfire, Deftones, Tool, Nofx, Sparta, Thrice, Rise Against, City and Colour, A Day to Remember, Less than Jake, the Mad Caddies, Brand New, Radiohead, Finch, Justice, Sam Roberts, Foo Fighters, RHCP, Pretty Lights, C2C

Some of my favourite movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, American History X, Amelie, Old School, Monsters Inc., Her

(Dan)
Real Mckenzies, The Dreadnoughts, Alexisonfire, Slayer, Anthrax, Misfits, Motown (yes, Motown), Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and about a bazillion others

Movies- Same as Claud, plus pretty much anything by Stephen Chow, Martin Scorcese, David Fincher, Kubrick or Tarantino.

Books - The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, Ishmael, Swan Song, No Logo, Tom Robbins (Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates is my favourite). I also like to read Bertrand Russel and Noam Chomsky.
Lately I have been on a sci-fi tear. Three Body Problem was the most recent good one I have read.
