About Me

Hi! My name's Clay, I'm a One-man soul band from Pittsburgh, PA. I've recently released my first full length album with First Flight Records, and am touring the east coast to support the record and grow my fanbase! In addition to playing and writing music, I love to cook, work on old cars and motorcycles, and go camping. I love learning new things and exploring the little tucked away spots in cities that only locals know about. I'm fascinated by linguistics and social patterns, and love people watching.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While on tour, I am on a very limited budget for things like food and lodging. while some areas may offer good camping options, It really makes things easier on me if a kind soul can put me up for the night. I'm a low maintenance guy, even a flat patch of yard for me to put up my tent for the night is much appreciated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The summer after I graduated High School, as I was beginning to discover that music was my calling, I formed a duo with a friend playing jazzy, Simon & Garfunkel style acoustic songs. We called ourselves Acacia Street, and quickly grew a small following among the students at University of Pittsburgh. On a whim, we decided to try out for Pitt's annual Battle Of The Bands, and ended up winning in a unanimous vote by the judges alongside 5 other local bands. As a result, we were given the opportunity to open for International pop rock band, ONEREPUBLIC. It was an incredible experience, and really helped affirm that I was put on this earth to make music that connects people. Nothing else brings me more joy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want nothing more than to share a message of love with the world, and connect people through art and music. I love to share stories of my life experiences, and always welcome any offered words of wisdom and knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always more than happy to do anything I can for my hosts. whether it's as simple as cleaning up around the house/doing chores, gardening, or helping work on cars. That being said, I love to share my passions. I have several years experience in professional kitchens training under talented chefs, and would be happy to cook my hosts a delicious meal catered to their tastes. I would also be delighted to play some of my original tunes in your home, whether you are having a party, or just want a romantic backdrop to your date night, I can cater to just about any setting.
