About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current objective is to learn Spanish over the course of the summer and continue to run/bike as much as possible as I prepare for my journey to Europe and Morocco in the autumn.

ABOUT ME

I began hitchhiking aroung the US at the age of seventeen, spending time in New Orleans, the south west desert, California, Oregon, and Washington. At the the age of 21 i married my ex-wife and began rennovating our 100 year old home. Five years later, with the home finished and sold I moved to Naples in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York. Over the course of three years I rehabed the 1500sqft home and established a large organic heirloom veg garden, supplimenting the soil with aged manure, 2 year cured compost, and green manure tilled in from the winter cover crops of hairy vetch, red clover, and winter rye. At the end of three years the soil had transformed from a stoney heavy clay plot to a biodynamic loam that invited bare toes to wiggle in its ebony tilth. Along with the garden, we established a modest free-range organic egg business with our Rhode Island Reds and Silver-Laced Wyandottes and a particularly doting rooster named Bruce. At the beginning of 2011, I established a bee yard with two hives of Carniolan honey bees to which i took great pride in watching and caring for. As of May of this year, I have separated from my ex, leaving her with the homestead and am seeking to broaden my palatte of experience travelling again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent an unwitting week getting to know and love a woman who then died suddenly of an aneurism in her heart. For this brief time, speaking to her at length, hours before she passed, and restoring her faith in humanity i am proud to be the man i am and grateful to have known the fragile part of her beneith all the tons of strength.
