About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To eat and photograph my way across the world :)

ABOUT ME

I'm not much for writing about myself.. I really just like experiencing new things. I've been preparing for grad school my whole life. The idea that I have to graduate and get a job before everyone else has always been in the back of my mind. Then, all-of-a-sudden it hits me; there's no rush! So I took a year off of school and started travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

No one's perfect. Some are less-perfect than others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I AM PUTTING THIS FOR THE DISENCHANTED CS HOSTS

I am not a free-loader!
I am not using hosts as free hostels!
I am not rude!
I am not disrespectful!
I am trying to learn from the people I stay with!

I seem to be getting replies from Host requests that reek of resentment. It seems that there are a number of surfers that have abused the CS hosts, I am not one of them!

If you feel that you have to put CS surfers through a guantlet just to ask for a host, then please, I don't want to waste your time. I will cook for you. I will clean for you. I will do my share. All I ask is that you don't assume that I am like other bad surfers you have hosted before you've even met me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I couch surfed in Luxor and Cairo, Egypt and from Essen, Germany to Amsterdam. The experiences so-far were awesome. I really got a chance to lay-back and relax and not worry if my stuff was going to get stolen from my hostel room or something. Not to mention the people I've met are really awesome.

Interests

Really, I'm just like most of the people here.. I just like experiencing new cultures and meeting interesting people.
I like photography though.. I travel with a Nikon D50, 50mm f/1.4, 18-55mm f/5.6 a 70-300mm f/4 and an SB-800.
I also really love alternative musical instruments. I play the didgeridoo and just picked up an oud.

Besides things that involve heights, I'll try anything. If you've got a cool balalaika from Russia I'll be more than happy to try and play it. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

In the last couple months I read the Stand, the Mist a book on the Mossad, something about Indonesian slave girls, Perfume and started reading the Oath.

I love movies. My favorite is somewhere between Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and the Fountain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My grandfather is a medical examiner in south Florida. He was the guy that did the autopsy on Anna Nicole Smith. I was an autopsy assistant for a few months.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach circular breathing on the didgeridoo. I also know how to make an oatmeal cookie (the drink, not the cookie).

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, Romania, South Africa, United States
