Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Heard about the CS though a good friend of mine from Brazil who travelled through India and Asia for 6 months, who loved CS so much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with CS was in Zurich in 2008 and it was great - my hosts were super friendly and very welcoming. Since then I've stayed in peoples' couches in Italy and Germany - had a great time, and met really nice, inspiring people.

Interests

I'm a professional illustrator, and an semi-pro cartoonist :) . Have published some comic books and two children's books. I listening to radio while I work and my favourite shows are Radiolab, about science, and Entitle Opinions, about literature. I'm quite interested in anything. I used to have a little record collection in Brazil, which I listen to around once an year when I visit my parents :). In London, I much prefer live music, where there's no lack of good musicians (little nice venues, though, are increasingly disappearing!).

Music, Movies, and Books

My list of favorites includes books by Julio Cortazar, Garcia Marques, Kurt Vonnegut, George Peréc, Scott Fitzgerald... Also graphic novels by Joann Sfarr, Vittorio Giardino, Dupuy & Berberian, Daniel Clowes... I listen to a very diverse range of music, from rock'n'roll to gypsy music to samba - anything with a nice groove.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Random music gigs in london, shadow puppets in delhi, the ice cream in bologna, pearl paint art material shop in new york, many feijoadas in brazil...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach techniques of drawing from observation, how to cook a couple of Brazilian dishes, give some good tips about places to go in London (including cheap/free ones!).
