Overview
About Me
I am currently finishing up a year of volunteer service with an organization called AgriCorps, living and working in Ghana, West Africa. I help train teachers and work with farmers to integrate new agricultural practices in their businesses. I recently graduated from the University of Illinois majoring in Plant Genetics and Agricultural Education. I will be attending Iowa State University to obtain my Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics.
I grew up on a medium-sized family farm and own my own sweet corn business to pay for college. I have worked as a camp counselor and also as a field scientist with several major agricultural companies. I was very active in The National FFA Organization serving in leadership positions at local, state and national levels.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm all about the pay it forward life. I've hosted a lot of friends at my apartment before I learned about couch surfing and after using it myself I would love to host more people as well. I used couch surfing on several trips across the US and have had pretty good success with it. Thus, I hope to continue using it to help others out as well.
