About Me
I'm a 26 y.o French girl traveling on my own in Canada. I'm really stepping out of my confort zone as I left my 9-5 job to hike, hitchhike, camp by myself and to learn surfing in Tofino!
Next challenge: going hiking in the Tombstone Territorial Park.
I enjoy music, films, books, philosophy, existential questions, deep talks about the meaning of life (I haven't find it yet aha). I love learning and trying new things! I also enjoy photography but I'm still a beginner in this discipline!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am looking for a place to stay in Whitehorse, Yukon on Sept 6th 2018. I will be flying from Vancouver and will land pretty late, around 11pm.
Let me know if you could host me for a night :)
Interests
Books:
Hemingway, Kerouac, Saint-Exupéry (my favorite author), Alice Munro etc... So many great books out there! I think I should rent a cabin and stay there for few months just to read!
Photography:
I was lucky to live in New York where I took some photography courses and the city became my exploring and experimental field. However when it comes to capture the amazing landscapes of Canada, I think I still have a lot to learn!
Surfing:
It's something I've always wanted to try. It's as hard as it is fun. I guess there's no shortcut to get better at it, just practice, practice, practice.
Hiking:
Walking among the nature, with friends or by myself makes me feel alive and connected to the planet. Even if it's hard and sometimes exhausting, it reminds me that I can get where I wan to be in life, just one step after another.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I was at a public swimming pool with my mom and my sister. They were outside and I was in some sort of a greenhouse. I saw them and ran towards them... Didn't see the glass door between them and me. I made a huge crack in it just with my then 9 years old head. I was fine, the door... not so much.
The other day, I was cleaning a house and a hummingbird got stuck inside and couldn't find a way to get out. I took a ladder, climbed on it and very very gently grabbed him. He stopped moving as he was in my hand.
I went outside to set him free and he flew away.
It's the kind of moment of grace that makes life magical I think.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a bit of French so you can sound fancy next time you see your friends or try to impress that "special one" ;)
I'm quite eager to learn so I would say you can teach me pretty much anything.
