About Me

Hi, I am Clemens a recently graduated Geography student. Currently I am on a trip around the world with my girlfriend Marie. Marie is a midwife. We have both been living in Berlin, Germany for the past years and just started our new seven-months journey in Mai'23 with our first destination Uganda, next up is Canada.

The following profile will include information about both of us!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me, Clemens joined Couchsurfing during my voluntary year in Cambodia 2015/16. I had my first ever couchsurfing experiences being hosted in Thailand and India. When I came back to Germany, Berlin it was my time to give back, so I shared my couch to some guests around the world and simply loved the CS vibes.
Because of my bike-touring trips I changed to another similar platform called "warmshowers" (exclusively for bike touring).
Now Marie and I are ready for new adventures are looking forward to experience the Couchsurfing vibes again!

Interests

Both of us love outdoor adventures. We regularly go camping with tents or hammocks. Fun Fact: In Berlin we nearly cycle every day, commuting and freetime.

We traveled some countries together but this trip will be our longest so far.

Music, Movies, and Books

Marie: I like to sing and sang in different choirs over the last years. I love Berlins techno music and clubs but I also listen often to calm songs. I played the violin for twelve years and joined two orchestra.
I mostly read novels and really enjoy watching movies.

Clemens: I am not a book guy, but read a lot of articles, news, science, etc. I spend too much time on Youtube (but not when traveling 😂). I mostly enjoy fantasy and science-fiction stories and Movies. Techno-Lover 🎶. I can play the piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Clemens: I am a big bike enthusiast (I got three bicycles in Berlin). I did some long-distance bike touring around Europe. Berlin - Budapest and Cologne - Barcelona.

Marie: I lived for one year in Ecuador and worked there as a volunteer. This year was very formative and I always keep in best memory.

Teach, Learn, Share

Clemens: Due to my Master degree in (Global Change) Geography, I have quite a big general knowledge about our Earth, countries, nature, and much more... I am always keen to learn knew things about other countries. Sharing and exchanging experiences and knowledge are my favorite of conversations.

Marie: I experienced that many people were quite curios when it comes to my work as a midwife so I am open to answer any question you may have ;)
I could also teach you some basic Salsa and Bachata dance-moves if interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Clemens: I know how to repair bicycles and can also help resolving many technological issues (computer, phone, etc.)! Let me know, if you need some help.

Marie: We could cook together or I prepare a vegetarian dish for us.
