Tough one but regarding music, I'm more into acoustic, rock & soft electro.
All road or "surviving" movies (wild, into the wild, on the road, 127 hours, tracks) but also post apocalyptic (Eli's book, the last day).
Books, I could quote Kerouac, Krakauer, Jules Vernes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just recently: I walked the length of the South Island in New Zealand. 2 months and 1 000 kms of pure freedom and fantastic people met on the road.

The best thing about it: I had never tramped before so anyone can do it !
