About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting ready for my trip to the USA! Keeping travelling the world.
ABOUT ME
I'm French but spent a large part of my childhood in Sierra Leone, hence a taste for discovering what the planet and its inhabitants have to offer.
I teach English in a French high school in Hungary, try to learn the piano and lyrical singing, play the guitar, experiment DIY and arty-crafty pieces-furniture-clothes. I love Radiohead, detective novels, any book or film related to Africa, anticipating my future travels browsing guides and deciding which is THE thing I can't miss trying.
So far I've lived in France (too many cities to tell), Reunion Island, Sierra Leone, Ghana (a few months here and there), Ivory Coast, Mali, Hungary. I've travelled to England, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, Serbia, Poland, Norway, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Mayotte, Mauritius, Qatar, Lebanon, Turkey. My next big trip will be the USA, the following one Singapore, and then I'll have to go back to Africa.
I speak English fluently, my German is at a bit more than survival level, my Hungarian is at a survival level. My Mandarin Chinese is fading away, so are my Pidgin and Creole - it makes me sad. My Spanish was gathered through my various trips, so it's really poor!
I'm always happy to meet new people and share experiences and adventures. I think I'm quite easy-going and open-minded. I'm only shy when there are too many people, I prefer smaller gatherings for quality conversations. I'm quite adaptable so I can have a philosophical conversation and then hit the dancefloor!
I think this sums me up, but don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Cheers!
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the moment, mostly just a coffee or a drink because I'm not often at home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted Pierre from France, a last-minute arragenemnt at a CS meeting. Though we didn't have time to share much, it was a nice experience and I might change my couch status soon.
I couchsurfed with a friend in Turkey: the best way to see how people live and think. And avoid the too touristic places!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
None of the following is what I would call "amazing", but good memories and things I'll probably never do again.
- A trip from Abidjan to Bamako, through Ghana and Burkina Faso, with my father and our dog. The car was fully loaded and had a problem with the cooling system: we had to stop every 40 kilometers to change the water...
- A trek around the crater of the volcano in Reunion Island.
- Moving from France to Hungary (and back) in 4 days with a car that had already more than 250 000 kms and was fully loaded - again! Exhausting but fun, thanks to the friend who came with me.
