About Me

I grew up in France but lived one year in the USA with a host family during high school, and since then I love discovering how people live elsewhere. I've lived for 5 years in the UK, as well as a little bit in Spain and Argentina. Right now I really like living in a city as diverse as London.

I am very laid back and easy going. I like people who take the time to live and speak to each other rather than always trying to run after the next thing.
In my everyday life I like cooking and eating together with my housemates, going to see live music and arts, discussing politics, cycling around the city, reading when I have time. I wish that modern life would mean less time working and more time doing all the rest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I strongly agree with the values of couchsurfing, especially the fact that it offers an alternative to monetary exchange. I think this is a good example of how things could work differently. And I believe that traveling somewhere is mostly about meeting people who live in that place.

Interests

Music, politics, people...
I've been taking flamenco dance classes for a few years now. I love going to see live music, especially 'world' music as they call it. London is great for that.
I also really like reading, and riding my bike through London. I've studied Urban Planning at university so I'm very interested in cities and how local politics and local communities can shape their surroundings.
I'm also passionate about languages (I've got a long list of languages I am learning... or will start to learn at some point...) and food (I'm a sweet tooth type, and also a big fan of anything Mediterranean that involves good olive oil).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is magical. I particularly like live music that you can dance on, especially latin music, flamenco, afrobeats...

Books - the list would be too long... I like realistic/historical books. Here are some that come to my mind right now for some reason: Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell, Gone with the Wind, As I walked Out One Mid Summer Morning by Laurie Lee, N-W by Zadie Smith...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living abroad for some time.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share music, and I can share with you what I know about London, it's an incredible city...
I like when couchsurfers who come stay at mine cook something they like for me and my housemates.
If you speak Portuguese or Spanish or German or Italian or Arabic then I'm happy to learn/practice speaking with you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you the languages I know, some juggling, maybe some French cooking. And I can recommend you many great things and places in London.
