ABOUT ME

Hey! i am Clémentine, a modern adventurer, living a lot in the day, always open to new experiences.

I traveled for 5 unforgettable months in South America in 2011 where i met amazing locals and backpackers, and i am now back in Europe where i started a social business (www.popinthecity.com/english), with the plan to hopefully go travel again!!

My life revolves around great friendships, life-changing trips and never-ending meals. I am 31 and it feels like i have already had an incredible life. I think you can see it on my face: it's a giant smile.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having traveled around the world, I believe my trips became what they were thanks to the people I met, who either hosted me, or did things for me or other people that touched me deeply, and I wished when I would be home i could as well do things for others to make their experiences of travel as amazing as the ones i had.

So when i can host, i will host, when i can give advices or suggest nice restaurants, walks, bars, live bands, i will, and when i can help in any other way, i will as well; because I want people to go home and give in the same way, so the traveling spirit stays as easy it becomes a way of living!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in Tokyo for a year and hosted a few couch surfers or friends of friends. I think they enjoyed a lot sleeping on the floor of my 30 sqm japanese flat, on yoga matts! they say it's very good for your back...

i have had an unforgettable couch surfing experience in a small town of Brasil where i shared the younger daughter's room and could hear the grandma snoring all night long through the bedroom wall... and was awoken by the rooster by my bed, and the smell of the frying pan !

cooking (expert!!), wine, parties, traveling... meeting new people (aaah - that, we love), eating... music festivals, the beach, having drinks...
i was also a navigator in a women-only rally called "the Gazelles".

i love books! i can't get enough of them! in Argentina I read "the god of small things"... Here in Iran I am ready Dostoievski - absolutely amazing.
i am a huge fan of music festivals, and what i like most is crowd surfing!
i go a lot to the cinema (could say i'm an addict...)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

i have organised an urban adventure race in Porto in 2012 in which 270 women competed. it was a blast. it's called Pop In the City. I have now organised 8 more races around Europe, inviting sporty and non sporty women to meet and discover cities in an unexpected way, mainly through inspiring encounters with locals.
i have done three rallies in the moroccan desert, as a navigator, and some orientation racing around Europe and in Morocco.
I have climbed two volcanoes, including the Fuji in Japan!
I have been to the Lencois Maranhenses in Norther brasil, which changed my vision of the Earth.
I have seen the exhibition '6 billion others' by Yann Arthus Bertrand in São Paulo, Brasil, and cried 6 billion tears.

i want to share the energy!!
i can give some help on how to understand japanese culture, show around some really nice places if you go to Japan.
I can also talk a lot about France, customs, food, habits, cities and young generations. I'm also a happy member of the startup world, having started my own with two friends, and very happy to share these experiences.
I can give help on planning trips to South America (Brasil, Argentina, Chile), or in France to Paris that I know really well (and love).
