About Me

Foodie kiwi just finished studying in The Netherlands and travelling Europe.
On my way to Santa Cruz for the next chapter in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love the different way to travel and meet new people.
I've surfed once in Barcelona and was overwhelmed at how welcoming and helpful my host was.
Moving to Cali I really want to meet locals so the couch surfing community seems like a great place to start!

Interests

Making food, eating food, talking about food.
I'm mostly a baker, but I'm interested in all sorts of things.
I love being outdoors in nature but also wandering around old European cities.
I love swimming, running, hiking, Pilates, skiing and paddleboarding.
I recently took my first ever surf lesson and am hoping to be able to call that a hobbie soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently joined the world of e-readers. As someone who is seriously technologically challenged I've almost been converted. It can't replace a real book but for on the road it's been amazing.
Currently on a mission to discover more about history, Europe has really sparked that passion in me.
Currently reading The Silk Road.
(I also just finished JK Rowling's "the tales of beetle the bard and thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia)

When it comes to music and movies I confess to being the movie/musical equivalent of someone who loves food but not cooking.

Except for Flight of the Conchords. I'd say they are my fourth favourite folk comedy duo in New Zealand.
I'm a huge fan of musical comedy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This exchange to the Netherlands has been the best experience of my life so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hungry to learn more about Europe and its rich history.

I want to speak more languages!

On a mission to try yoga, surfing, diving and some kind of dance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love of food. I can talk food and eat it for hours.
It's one of my favourite ways to learn about another culture.

I like to appreciate the small things.
A trip to the supermarket will definitely excite me.
