About Me
CURRENT MISSION
think of a good current mission.
ABOUT ME
I am not very poetic. Maybe it's the journalist in me... I usually express myself in a very straight-forward, literal way. So, here I will offer you some FAQs abut myself. Basically, I will try to answer all the questions you will ask me if you ever meet me, so we can get straight to the interesting conversations :)
Where are you from?
Ohio, USA. I have lived in many cities in the state, but my favorite and most recent one was Cleveland so I usually say I am from there!
You're American? But you look so mora.
Americans are pretty diverse and can look a lot of different ways. In my case, my father is Iranian (and naturalized American!) and my mom is a typical "white American" (of Swedish/German decent.)
Why did you come to Spain?
I wanted to experience living outside the US and it seemed like a good choice. Good weather, nice landscapes, friendly people, and good orange juice. I came with the reason of studying a year-long degree. Then I was lucky enough to find a job here.
How long will you stay in Spain?
Possibly forever. Or until I feel like leaving.
Whats your job?
I do English communications and public relations work for Spanish companies. I also sometimes work as a journalist and write about Spanish economy.
What did you study?
I studied journalism in the US, and business administration in Spain.
How's your Spanish?
My Spanish is conversational, and is limited to talking about topics I know, like my hobbies, family, some politics, as well as the solar panel installation process. I am also really good at writing work emails using phrases like "lo antes posible!!" and "gracias por tu comprensión" (please tell me if those are wrong because in that case I am embarrassing myself on a daily basis).
How did you learn?
I took 3 years of Spanish classes in high school and a one-semetster long class at a community college. Then I came to Spain, and I still couldnt speak a word. Now, two years later, I speak a lot of words but they dont always make sense. But I am getting better every day :)
Do you speak Farsi/Persian?
My father speaks Farsi but I never learned. I took a couple of "Intro to Persian" courses in university, but I only managed to learn to read and write (badly) Arabic script. While somewhat useful, this does not help me much in having conversations with my relatives.
If you like, ask me some more questions so I can put the answers here!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am not so picky about my pop culture, and tend to enjoy most things I watch or listen to. Although, I of course have my favorites. For music, I like punk-ish bands like Bad Religion and The (International) Noise Conspiracy... as well as less aggressive stuff like Kings of Convenience, Royksopp, Cat Stevens, New Order, Morrissey.... and more. When it comes to movies and books, I'm a fan of science fiction, especially political or dystopian science fiction :)
