About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to love where I am

ABOUT ME

I like to think I make the world a better place by doing financial analysis for NextEra Energy, the world's leading wind and solar developer (among other things). I try not to let my work define me so when people ask me "what do you do?" I tell them that I teach confirmation classes at church, I ref high school sports, I go surfing in hurricanes, and I write poetry on the beach. I try to stay as active as possible and I always love meeting and spending time with quality people. Iâ

PHILOSOPHY

Find what you truly enjoy and pursue it. Don't worry yourself with what everyone else is doing. Nothing worth having ever came easy. Average and ordinary are dirty words. The worst goal you can ever set for yourself is to be the statistical mean. Dare to be different.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed couches in Cork, Oslo, and Edinburgh. While I didn't meet any soulmates or have the time of my life, I've yet to have a negative experience.

Interests

Tea, sports, dancing, anything foreign, meaningful interactions, self-sufficient intellectual encounters, hopeful romanticism.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much anything. Amélie and Pride & Prejudice come to mind for movies, I had trouble putting Atlas Shrugged down, but right now I'm pretty much married to my LSAT prep book. If you put my iPod on shuffle you could very easily go from Turkish pop (Çakkıdı is my ring tone after all) to Death Cab for Cutie to reggaeton to Mozart, although I have recently become strangley obsessed with the song “Deceptacon” by Le Tigre and the accompanying dance.
