About Me

Recently moved from Seattle to Minneapolis, Minnesota and I am traveling to Colombia before I start my new job as a Planning Analyst for Climate and Resilience. I've been waiting for this trip since 2020 when I had to cancel because of COVID!

Things I love: cities (so much that I became a transit planner!), hiking and camping, cooking/food, bicycling, exploring and having adventures, soccer, and more

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The first time I couchsurfed, I thought of it mostly as a way to get insider tips on where to go and what to see. What I learned very quickly, though, is that meeting new people and staying with them is often my favorite part of a trip! Hostels can be nice to meet people too, but sometimes the partying vibes are not what I am looking for, and I think the relationships you build in CS can be deeper and more genuine.

The memories I make couchsurfing are always the best - like the night in a small town in Puerto Rico when we hung out at a bar all night and then locked the keys in the car! The people we had met tried to help us break in, and eventually the police helped us out. Or when I got to join a wine-making party in a small town near Vienna where we harvested grapes while drinking last year's batch!

So I guess the reason I'm on couchsurfing is because that's what traveling is all about for me - meeting people and sharing experiences, and learning something about the places I am going.

Farmed in Nicaragua for six weeks
Got lost while solo-backpacking on the Wicklow Way in Ireland
Backpacked in Denali
Wandered in Realejo and Albayzin in Granada for a couple hours looking for (and finding!) street art
Bonfire on the beach and skinny-dipping with friends
Spent six hours on the back of a truck to get to the most beautiful lake in Mexico
Got engaged

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer an open mind and a willingness to learn, to share, and to be down with anything. If we have time to explore together, I hope I can make you see something about your city that you never noticed before! And of course I can offer you a drink at a bar or a meal as a thank you, or maybe we can cook together!
