About Me
Hi! My name is Camilo, I'm a Colombian biologist researching mammalian evolution. I moved to Sydney, Australia almost four years ago to do a MSc and now a PhD. I really enjoy traveling and learning new languages.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't mind sacrificing a bit of comfort in order to have a more authentic experience while I'm traveling, reason why I decided to give Couchsurfing a chance. Also, I don't mind the monetary aspect of it :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music would definitely have to be Salsa, it takes me back to my happy childhood days, it also keeps me connected to my culture, and I specially love dancing to it.
Books there are too many that I haven't read to have a definite favorite yet, but so far Tim Winton and Orahn Pamuk are some of my favorite writers.
Among my favorite movies are probably Waking Life, The Broken Circle Breakdown and some less-known Colombian films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watch the Monarca butterfly migration in Mexico, and hiking for 4 days along the southern coast of Tasmania.
Teach, Learn, Share
The only think that I feel confident enough to teach are biology, Salsa, and Spanish. Learning a bit of everything is always nice, but mostly I think that the thing that I really want to learn is to know myself by exposing myself to challenging experiences. Share... Food!
What I Can Share with Hosts
From a beer to a diner, a hike, anecdotes and life perspectives. I consider myself a good listener and that allows me me to share many different things that I'd have initially disregarded.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Uruguay
