My name is Clotilde and I am originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! I grew up in Asia my entire life, moved to Montréal for my undergraduate studies and now, I am currently on a semester exchange in Newcastle Upon Tyne :)! I love to travel to different places, read books (and spend a good amount of time discussing the plot, the characters, the world, the writing style after having finished it), watch movies, documentaries and eat good food! I greatly value a good sense of humour, the sun and a good cup of tea. One of my best discoveries in England was Yorkshire tea (with a little bit of milk) and the double-decker bus. I always enjoy sitting at the front of the top deck and look at the streets and the passing trees.

I believe that couch surfing is a great way to meet new people and new cultures! It is wonderful to be able to connect with people that we would not necessarily have chance of meeting in our daily lives. It is always a joy to talk to people and understand their point of view, thoughts and interests!

This is a hard one, there are way too many beautiful music, films and books to discuss about!

Let's talk about music. I cannot express how much I love music and attending to concerts and festivals. Music is a medium allowing one to be transported temporarily in another space (the space of one's mind of course). From classical music (Chopin, Manchester By The Sea's soundtrack is also great) to French Indie, I listen to a bit of everything. It really depends on what I am doing. I love finding new music, new album's (and listening to them multiple times) and their album covers (some are really beautiful), new artists and new playlists! I often wait for Monday for my new "Discover Weekly" on Spotify. The following are a few great songs: "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure, "Creep" by Radiohead, "Où va le monde" by La Femme, "In Your Eyes" by Maud Geffray, "Cracking Codes" by Andrew Bird and "Amour Plastique" by Videoclub.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One thing that I am proud of is the zine/magazine that I created for my University's greenhouse! I designed from scratch a zine about relatively easy houseplants to take care of and the different aspect one should take into consideration when choosing a specific plant. It was great to see the final version of my work printed, in the actual format of a magazine and later on sold at the year-end houseplant sale!

- A horse with all four feet on the ground represents a rider who died from something unrelated to war

- A horse with both the legs in air represents a rider who died during war

- A horse with one paw up symbolizes a rider who died not in war but from an injury related to war
