Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world on a budget.
Be a better citizen of the world.
Learn Hokkien.
Find out about my Chinese ancestors.
ABOUT ME
I am a friendly, independent and fairly chilled-out Franco-British-Malaysian girl with fuzzy hair. I may seem a bit quiet at first, but once you get to know me, you'll see I don't stay shy for very long.
I love hiking up mountains, making new friends, singing in harmonies, speaking different languages and most of all, eating.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short to procrastinate or worry. Do what you gotta do! And don't fret about things too much...
Knowing where you come from is important - that is why we have history books and family trees... By knowing what came before you, you can learn to accept others and the world around you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I thought I'd only be surfing for now and that once I got rich I'd be able to host as well, but it turns out my parents are pretty cool and have agreed to have some strangers crash once in a while. Sweet!

Music, Movies, and Books
Blues, Soul, Jazz, Folk, Hip Hop, Bit o' Rock N' Roll. A soulful voice gives me goosebumps like nothing else (except maybe Rachmaninoff in six voice parts.)
I'm not fussy with movies and series. A couple years back I got addicted to an animated show called Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is an absolute work of art (and I don't usually watch cartoons.)
I mostly binge-read works of fiction. Some of my favourite authors include: Amelie Nothomb, Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Donna Tart, Patrick Suskind, Stieg Larsson, Yu Hua, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Three generations later, I returned to my ancestral village in China, the one my great grandfather grew up in.
Volunteered in Tibet for two months.
Felt the tremors of an earthquake in Tokyo.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some French, English or Chinese.
I would love to practise my Spanish and my basic Taiwanese!
I am very interested in hearing people's family history stories. If you have ancestry in China, I could give you some tips to find more about your family's history in China.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will gladly cook you a meal (I cook fairly good Chinese food) if you're up for it.
I will sing for you (assuming I am sufficiently inebriated)
