About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life !

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Julia, I've just started my PhD studies in conflict resolution in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
I really enjoy studying, but I'm not a total nerd either, I'm very open minded, and many things outside politics fascinate me (history, music, languages, sports - but only to watch, I'm pretty pathetic when it comes down to anything too physical!, art, and travelling of course !).

PHILOSOPHY

Two words: Respect and Tolerance

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

Travelling, meeting new people, reading, studying (sociology, anthropology, history, politics), FOOD, natural sciences, dinosaurs, archaeology, music, films, photography, big cities, the country side, star gazing (but not for too long), going to the pub, you name it ! It might actually be easier to say what doesn't interest me: accounting, the financial world, competition, business/profit kind of stuff...oh and economics :p

Music, Movies, and Books

I love going to the cinema, and followed a film study course for two years when I was still at school.
I also love music, and used to play the piano quite well. I'll listen to anything, from classical music to traditional Irish music, rap, dubstep, electro, rock, pop...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Africa for the first time in my life in August 2012, more precisely to Togo in West Africa. I lived there for a month, and discovered a completely different culture from my own. Everything was so new for me over there, it was a real eye-opener as to how rich and diverse our little planet is, and I really want to travel more to experience this again !

Watched the sun set in Wadi Rum desert, Jordan. It was simply beautiful.
