Overview
About Me
I just finished 2 years of an AmeriCorps program and am now seeking employment in Chicago. But while I'm between jobs I'm trying to exercise a little freedom. My friend and I are backpacking through the Smokies, then hitting up a friend in Atlanta and couchsurfing in Nashville.
My friend Joe just wrapped up a summer gig in California. He is traveling back to Philadelphia and then Pittsburgh for university.
We are both very easy going. We would be grateful to crash on a couch or floor, or even set up our tent on a lawn/porch. We want something simple that allows us to learn about your city in the special way that couchsurfing allows.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been to community couchsurfing events in Madison WI, and I've had this account for 6 years, but I've never actually crashed on a person's couch. Now I'm at a time of my life when I can give it a try.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - Primer, Eternal Sunshine, Enter the Void, Man on Wire, Touching the Void, Let Me In, Cabin in the Woods.
Music - not picky, sweet tooth for some Top40's, happy dance jams, melodramatic slow jams, soul, a little folk. Things like Kings of Leon, Cold War Kids, The Weeknd, Rhye, Phoenix, Tallest Man. Songs with guitar, violin/cello, some brass are pretty great in my book.
Books - I've been into short stories lately. I love when art can get me to think for hours on minimal amounts material. Raymond Carver, Ray Bradbury, miscellaneous anthologies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in a housing cooperative with 23 housemates (and 7 cats/dogs) in Madison WI.
