To educate local community about sustainable agriculture, nutrition and food preservation with an emphasis on how to prepare available fresh local foods.

ABOUT ME

I am the Garden Manager for the Delta Garden Study www.arteengarden.com. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th graders science in the setting of a large organic garden and greenhouse operation. The research is designed to prevent childhood obesity and other social risk behaviours in middle school students. I am passionate about the practice of urban agriculture as a mechanism for building community within Little Rock and across the state. In my personal life I manage a small urban farm where I live in Midtown. Little Rock Urban Farming educates the local community about sustainable urban agriculture practices. We specialize in vermiculture, organic vegetable and flower production, rainwater harvesting and backyard poultry. In the spring we will host a series of gardening classes in collaboration with the local community library. I am also a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner. I practice daily and welcome anyone who is interested to join. There is also a morning meditation from 6:00-6:30 AM.I believe in making time for food so all meals are made from scratch using fresh organic produce.
