About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pretty standard - to see new places and meet cool people!

ABOUT ME

I used to run the guesthouse at a monastery in Boston, but now I'm back in school. Feel free to ask me more!

PHILOSOPHY

"I think if you can take care of yourself, and then maybe try to take care of someone else, that's sort of how you're supposed to live."

Outside of that, I'm all about finding truth and figuring out where I fit in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I made my profile a couple years ago but did nothing with it. I want to take it seriously now, though, and to start meeting people through it and use it traveling. I also wasn't in a position in the past where I could offer my couch, but now I am!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing through this site but I spent a lot of nights on friends' couches all across the country visiting them in college and afterwards.

Interests

Anything outdoors - SCUBA, surfing, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, spelunking, city exploration
All types of food - durian, chicken feet, tendon, tripe, jellyfish, lengua ... I'm game for anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard for me to find things I actually don't like. I don't read many books, because I'm usually on the go and terribly slow at reading but I read a hell of a lot of articles on whatever catches my attention.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was walking around Koh Tao in Thailand and saw a sign for freediving. The sign guaranteed that they could teach you how to hold your breath for 3 minutes and dive to 60' on a single breath -- basically super powers! You can't not try that, right?

Teach, Learn, Share

Truth is not relative. Our understanding of it is. The more we talk and share about ourselves, the closer we come to experiencing that truth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company and respect and my couch if you're ever visiting Boston! I can also grab a 6 pack of whatever you want on my way in - just let me know!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, Viet Nam, Virgin Islands, U.S.
