HOSTING AVAILABILITY

I really enjoy hosting, but my schedule these days makes it very difficult to entertain guests during the week. If you would like to surf with me, please keep in mind my likelihood for accepting your request is dramatically lowered if you want to stay during weeknights (fri and sat nights are good, though!).

ABOUT ME

I walk a lot. I like to experience new things. My favorite type of new things is people. And cats. Cat people.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe there is no ultimate reason or purpose, but just to do as we can given the constraints of our experiences. Everything is just another experience in the stream of life, and I'm trying to learn how to just go with the flow.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How else to participate other than to host, to surf, and to meet up? I love CS - I think the idea is invaluable. It serves to bring people together in a community of trust around the world. CS makes the internet a good idea. I am happy to be a part of this community and I always learn so much because of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every CS experience I've had has been wonderful in its own way. I've made so many friends around the world, I couldn't travel without it.

Interests

Jamming (percussion and guitar), yoga, photography, horses, cats, food, music, anything outdoors, dancing, meeting new people, human beings, good drinks, good conversation...!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Steven Moffat (Doctor Who and Sherlock for starters) - definitely tend toward SciFi genre. Carl Sagan is inspirational.

Fictional reading magic realism is always a winner (Jose Saramago, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jorge Luis Borges, etc). Non-fiction topics of interest are social psychology, technology and communications, clinical neuroscience, badasses of history, etc.

I prefer the NYTimes, the Atlantic, and Reddit.

Do enjoy Charles Bukowski, Emily Dickinson, TS Eliot, Pablo Neruda, ee cummings, and Wallace Stevens among others.

And so much music. Pretty much enjoy percussion-oriented, wordsmiths, minimalistic, cultural traditional, cultural modern, chill electronic, party electronic, eclectic....
