About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To invent a new job for myself.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing philosopher type. I'm sort of a minimalist that likes to think big.
I like to play in the intersection between things. So I teach philosophy, draw, write, explore, take photos, do performance art, and am a Feldenkrais Practioner, all in some crazy combination.

PHILOSOPHY

That's a tough one since I'm a professional philosopher. I guess personally, I think the world is a fascinating place, and I enjoy finding new ways of engaging with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted once before, and now that the chaos of my dissertation is done, I'm looking forward to hosting more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just had a great experience surfing in Paris. I went to a couchsurfing party while I was there, which was good fun, and met some great folks.
Holler if you are passing through New York.

Interests

I like talking about life with people, making things, exploring...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies of all sorts! For philosophical travel writing, I recommend anything by Alphonso Lingis! "Excesses" is the reason I still believe in doing philosophy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the Day of the Dead celebration in a little fishing village on an island in Mexico was so beautiful.
I particularly remember another night in Buenos Aires, in which we were led through an unmarked door on some back street, wound down a cooridor and then popped out in an abandoned cathedral, where I danced Tango for the first time. Stunning!
I'm also a bit in awe of what I'm about to do: crossing from one side of Paris to the other completely underground... (Edit: just finished it! It was amazing!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love trying to pick up languages from people, and hearing about different experiences.
I can juggle, and teach you how too. I'm also a Feldenkrais Practitioner, which is a kind of movement education, and it's always fun to give a session while I'm on the road!
I also can teach even the most fearful how to draw! (aestheticrelationalexercises.com)
