About Me
After a few years behind a desk, I'm ready to get out on the road again. I'm taking the next few years to learn as much as I can about the world (and myself) through travel and work abroad.
A bit about what I'm doing:
My passion is food and I want to dive deep and learn from the ground up (literally). During my stay in New Zealand, I aim to become better connected with where our food comes from. I know I have so much to gain from working with my hands and learning from the earth. I have a lot of respect for our agriculture and horticulture industries and believe it's important to be informed and conscientious on sustainable and responsible practices. I'm ready to get my hands dirty!
Who would you be hosting?
I'm generally a big goof with a quick wit. I'm always up for an adventure or a new friend, though I'm also a big believer in solitude and enjoy being on my own for long periods. I'm incredibly tidy. I've learned a lot of beautiful things in my travels so try to move through the world with an open heart and mind. I never want to stop learning from these experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my best travel memories are centred around couch surfing experiences; the hosts I've met and the connections we made. I am always so grateful to my hosts for sharing with me, whether it's a spot on their couch, a recommendation, or time spent together.
I think there's nothing more valuable when visiting a new place than to meet people who live locally and know the area. I'd rather build my itinerary on suggestions than guidebooks - especially when it comes to food! I'm excited to keep meeting people, and look forward to returning the favour the next time I'm stationary :)
Interests
I'm curious and I love to explore. Set me loose with a map and I can wander around for days. I love to be outdoors and I love exploring neighbourhoods, roaming with my camera. I can spend days without talking to another soul when I've got a good book on the go. I am always in awe of mountains and oceans.
How I plan my days while I'm travelling is weighed heavily by where and what I want to eat, and, to a lesser extent, trying to leverage the golden hour.

Music, Movies, and Books
At home, I am an avid concert-goer. There's few times I'd turn down live music. I'm always up to check out a show or a local artist when I'm in town! I'm particularly a fan of indie, psychedelic rock, synth-pop, ambient, experimental electronic, R&B, soul and jazz.
I adore good storytelling in books. I like memoirs, Canadian literature, contemporary fiction, short stories and essays. Some of my favourite authors are Margaret Atwood, Jon Krakauer, F Scott Fitzgerald, Heather O'Neill, Haruki Murakami
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me how to cook something new and I will love you forever.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a huge place in my heart for my home country of Canada. I'd love to help you plan your trip and even hook you up with some local friends or family if I can! I've spent the last 3 years working as a travel consultant so if you need a co-conspirator for your next trip, I'm your girl! :)
