About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling the world as a teacher and mentor, trying to open the eyes of students and challenge assumptions about life. Looking to open my own eyes as well.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the beauty of northern california. I am amazed and humbled by nature, and try to live in it or as close to it as much as I can. I recognize that there is a lot of violence and injustice in the world. My heart feels compassion for the earth and those that are suffering. I love to help people, yet at times feel powerless to try to solve the world's big problems.
I relax on the beach and succumb to the power of the ocean. I dance barefoot at music festivals and ride my bike across countries. I believe life is very much a spiritual journey. I express myself through songs I write and chords I play. I try to keep my body healthy and fit so I can fully particpate in any activity nature has to offer, spontaneously. I can solve a diffucult math problem and paint a serene picture. I always try to find the sunny spot at any time of day. I make a point to always find a beautiful place to watch sunrises and sunsets.

PHILOSOPHY

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurf when I travel if I can. I also love hosting people and interacting with the culture of people who love learning, love life, and love traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed on my journey on bicycle through Mexico. Surfed in China. Hosted people at mi casa de comunidad in San Diego
How wonderful it is that people are so trusting and welcoming. Meeting great friends, learning about where they are from and why they are there. Don't invite me into your home if you don't want to get to know me; likewise, don't come into my home expecting not to converse...

Frolicking on the cliffs above las Cascadas de Tamasopo
Trekking the Wild Coast of South Africa
Sneaking into Angkor Wat in Cambodia before sunrise. Silence...

Teach, Learn, Share

The co-evolution of plants and insects amazes me. The fact that some orchids developed a smell resembling rotting meat so that flies would be attracted to their flower(and in so doing spread the their pollen)is amazing. The world is full of such crazy things!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom
