CURRENT MISSION

I am excited to participate in the normal, day-to-day activities of people, their families and friends all over the world. I want to volunteer when I can. I want to see & demonstrate that there are good, honest people in this world.

ABOUT ME

Down to Earth, friendly, helpful, kind. I'm reserved but can be quite humorous at times. I am fun, independent, unique and genuine. It's hard to write about myself because I'm two sides of a coin. I like being by myself (I NEED to be so I can reset and regroup) but I also like the company of others. I like getting my hands dirty in a project or playing outside, but I also like being clean and smelling nice. I like a set routine and knowing when and what's to be expected, the schedule of events, etc... but I also like flexibility so if I want to join in on an event I'd be welcome and if I didn't feel up to it, I could bail out. (I'm slightly commitment phobic, but that doesn't mean I don't want to know what's being offered, when, where and all the other specific details... I just find it hard to commit to things). I like traveling and being a part of another person's culture, but I also like discovering things on my own.

PHILOSOPHY

I am curious about why I'm here on this planet as well. I have gathered that I am here to motivate others, to provide happiness and empathy, to be a helping hand when needed, when I have developed trust, I am steadfast in doing whatever I can to best represent what a human being with a heart of gold would be like.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't really understand the question, but my take is that I participate by watching first, and usually with some coaxing, I'm right in there with the group, coaxing others to join us. If others are needing a smile or some encouragement, I'm usually the first to help. I love hanging out with people and learning about them. I also enjoy time to myself where I can feel recharged.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had much surfing experience. I honestly hate asking for favors and help, so this is a bit of a challenge for me. I am exceptionally conscious of another person's personal space and truly appreciate it when I am welcomed into that space.

兴趣

I like to do outdoorsy things, I am sporty and like trying new things. I love to volunteer, to help people and animals. I am into yoga (and yes, I like pina coladas and have half a brain, lol.) I LOVE traveling. I am a little shy at first, but love making new friends.

I have an eclectic mixture of tastes when it comes to music. I believe music is like a pair of shoes... even though the shoes fit perfectly and you love them, they're not always appropriate for every occasion. Music is much the same. I like movies, comedies, action, sci fi, etc...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have seen fish darting around in phosphorescent water like they were fireworks going off underwater. I have jumped out of a perfectly good plane. I have jumped off of cliffs into frigid gold water and burst blood vessels doing it. I have been scubadiving and felt like I was flying, gravity free, over mountains of corals, fish around me as if they were birds flying with me. I have given birth to and raised two beautiful, wonderful children who are now grown and off on their own. I have served in the military and gotten to blow some shit up and fire some really awesome weaponry. I have volunteered with people and organizations and have been able to see the fruits of the selfless acts of myself and others in such a positive way. I have been able to travel despite my physical and mental handicaps (we all know someone who NEVER traveled in their life because they couldn't overcome their mental handicaps about traveling). I love doing what the locals do and being a part of their world... that's pretty amazing to me...

I like meeting genuine, laid back people. I tend to be a little on the opposite side of the laid back spectrum (mostly when I'm traveling... so much to remember, plan and keep track of... it's sometimes stressful) so it's nice to be around someone with whom I don't feel like I have to be constantly on edge with, someone whom I don't feel unease with... someone I can trust.
