About Me
ABOUT ME
Exploring all things new and old. I love meeting new people and trying new things. I'm always looking to challenge myself, finding new limits, and understanding new things. My spirit animal would be a squirrfin - a dolphin body with a squirrel head...and probably little front paws. I'd be the most graceful animal ever.
PHILOSOPHY
I live and work with passion...which is why if we meet I'll probably look like I've just been steam-rolled. But don't let that fool you. I'm still kicking, even if I'm yawning and gazing out into space :D. My brain is much more resilient than my body.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting surfers, meeting surfers for coffee, and attending events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted surfers for about 2 years while living in Japan and enjoyed each and every one of them! I love traveling and when I'm not traveling, I love hearing other people talk about traveling. Living vicariously through others until I can live for myself again.
Interests
I'm very passionate about exploring the world and people around me. Science, neuroscience, psychology, education, universal health insurance, income inequality, public transportation, gender roles and egalitarianism.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music tends to depend on what I'm doing: cleaning - bachata, snowboarding - EDM, working - Indie, etc. I've been listening to a lot of Trentemoller, ARJ, Glass Animals, Rag'n'Bone, and The Electric Sons lately. Smart is the New Sexy playlist on Spotify.
I find I predominately end up reading dystopian/science fiction, psychology, education, or books on personal development. 1984, Brave New World, Dune, just about anything by Neil Gaiman, So Much Reform, So Little Change, books that leave me with more questions than answers.
I mostly enjoy films that elicit strong feelings, surprise me, or expand my perspective. Maybe I just like being in a constant state of unrest. I want certainty, but I surround myself with uncertainty. I love foreign films and documentaries. The rest of the time, I enjoy watching movies that are mind numbingly dumb. Brain break!!
