About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling in Europe, trying not to be a tourist!

ABOUT ME

I'm quiet, thoughtful, and generally low maintenance. I enjoy a good book, a museum, or a walk as much as a dance club. I like getting to know new people and getting different perspectives.

PHILOSOPHY

Can anybody give a good reason why any person should not be treated respectfully?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am travelling in Europe for parts of the Spring and Summer of 2008 and am looking for accomodations. I am welcome to return the favor next fall, if anyone would want to come to Worcester, Massachussets, USA (which I doubt).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just signed up. I had my first couchsurfing experience in March 2008 with 3 hosts in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was amazing!

Interests

Knoweldge in all its forms, especially related related to history, politics, modern life, foreign languages, and literature. I like music, especially live music, and movies. I like to take walks and be outside, and I also enjoy chess and poker.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Godfather, Being John Malkovich, City of God, Dr. Strangleove, American Beauty, Das Leben der Anderen, Good-Bye Lenin!

Currently Reading: The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov; Death in Venice and Other Stories by Thomas Mann

Music: Rock, Jazz, Classical, anything that sounds good

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not much. I've grown up in the US and am in Europe for the first time. I did some travel programs as a kid, but I am hoping this summer is the experience of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot of useless information about the things I study. I am happy to help anyone with English, and appreciate all the help I can get with German.
