About Me

I was raised where the mountains meet the ocean and I hope both will always be a part of my life. I like to call myself a coastal walker: raised on the west coast of Canada, yet fortunate enough to visit the east coast every summer growing up. Once I finished up my undergraduate degree - Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Simon Fraser University, I travelled and worked here and there 1.5 years. I then moved to St. John's, Newfoundland to complete my master's degree. Next, I am off to live in Australia with my boyfriend for an indefinite amount of time :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know people from the area and see the local's perspective. I don't like getting caught up in all the super touristy stuff, but rather live like a local. It is great for travelling on a budget too.

Interests

Hiking, camping, rock climbing, snowshoeing. Cool cafes, craft breweries, art galleries, etc. Reading, baking, or knitting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked over 600km across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish it due to an injury, but I am still proud of my accomplishment. It was equally a physical challenge as an emotional one, and an experience of a lifetime.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what I can teach, but I am all about sharing knowledge. Perhaps I could teach some ecology (science rules!), how to bake, how to knit, crib (or other card games)
I am currently learning French and would love opportunities to practice! Or any other languages for that matter.
I can share my happy personality, beer, chocolate, and baked goods!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Oddly enough, I like cleaning so you can expect that I will be a tidy guest. I enjoy cooking and baking, if you like to do shared meals. I also just love to chat and get to know people.
