About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Im here to make friends, network, and of course find an occasional couch to rest when I sojourn in away from home.

ABOUT ME

I am just a textbook Leo who enjoys a good time. I am also an openly gay man with a penchant for burly/beefy/husky fellas, but that in NO WAY precludes others from friendship. I am big roller coaster fan as the name suggest and have ridden some of the largest ones in the world. I also enjoy visiting various zoos and aquariums around the country. I also take interest in chess, photography, traveling, movies, wines, good food, and an array of other activities. If there are any other questions you wanna ask me, by all means...Just dont be surprised by my answers

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life for the fun of it. None of us are going to be here forever, and while we all have responsibilities to attend, sometimes you just have to knock off and do something for you. Never do it at the expense of someone else, but if you can include them in your adventures, than so much the better!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I am fully aware that Houston is not exactly a vacation spot. I mean sure we have museums, a zoo, shopping, a symphony, arts district, and such but when people book a vacation seldom do you hear them say, "I wanna spend my summer vacation in Houston." Heck, even in the winter time you dont hear people say that too often; however when people do like to visit I do my best to show them a little bit of the ins and outs of the city. I mean how many zoos have people seen that are home to a leucistic alligator? How often do you get to ride a 2.5 mile train around one of the local parks? Where else can you find more restaurants per capita than NYC? It may not be the world's most popular destination but I do endeavor to highlight the things that set us apart from other cities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I just signed up today so my experiences are yet to come.

Music, Movies, and Books

Im a fan of old school R&B and jazz. Ill often find myself listening to MP3s of music from the 80s/90s vs the newer stuff. Not that I dont enjoy some of it, but I dont really appreciate it as much as the aforementioned genre. When it comes to books I tend to read more sci-fi than anything else. One of my favorite authors is Steve Alten who wrote "The Meg" series. Ive also been a fan of Peter Benchley as well. Movies? Put it like this... Im dying to see Jurassic World and Terminator Genysis as well as waiting patiently for the new Avatar!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I will say that one of the most amazing things I have done is visited every MAJOR Six Flags theme park on American soil. There are some minor properties and other parks the company owns, but every park that has the name SIX FLAGS in front of it, I have walked through its gates. I can also say that Ive ridden 9 of the 10 tallest roller coasters in North America and will have ridden all 10 by the end of 2015.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach/learn from people about things like wine and good food. Ive worked in three steakhouses so wine knowledge is essential, but so is a great appreciation of it. I do have my favorite types of wines (mostly California blended reds) but would like someone from another culture to give me some insight on other various varietals. Of course if someone can share something with me about their cuisine too, thats a bonus.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Thats up for negotiation isnt it (just joking). I wont necessarily say Im an open book, or am THAT well traveled but I will say that Ive seen quite a bit in my _____ years of life. I may not have traveled beyond the borders of North America but some of the most amazing things you can see are seen right in the backyard. Im happy to extol on the years of exploration and experiences Ive had and offer insight to them as well.
