To meet fun and interesting people with stories to tell. and to acquire some stories of my own.

ABOUT ME

I'm easygoing and outgoing; I take joy in learning, and I take joy in the things my body can do, be it running, swimming, climbing etc. I love to go out dancing.
I'm always honest because dishonesty pisses me off.
I have a hard time staying in one place for long, but I will always return to my hometown because that's where the people I love most are.
I'm wanderlust-infected, naturally selected and overall misdirected, but I generally manage to enjoy myself no matter where I am and what I'm doing.

PHILOSOPHY

Friedrich Nietzsche wrote, “We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.” I think he was onto something there and I've tried to incorporate it into my life.

To me couchsurfing is the epitome of a moral society at work - people opening up their homes, trusting and helping each other because that's how they would like to be treated.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music, including classic rock, hard rock, alternative, celtic, some country and some R&B.
Some of my favorite books include most of the Ender's Game series, anything by Kurt Vonnegut(may he rest in peace), Middlesex, Everything is Illuminated, Catch-22 and The Lorax.
As for movies, I like The Matrix(only the first one), Equilibrium, PCU, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Casablanca, American Psycho, In Bruges, most superhero movies, Kingsman, Muppet Treasure Island, and Love Actually.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a bald eagle catch a fish on a six day backpack in the Sierra Nevada and I've jumped out of a plane over the Swiss Alps. One of the best days I've ever spent was on the Isle of Skye drinking beer in the rain with a Scotsman I'd just met while watching rainbows come and go.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The Italians tell me I make a pretty good bolognese sauce.
