ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Pomona, California. My first real experience of living in a new enviornment came when I went on exchange to Storrs, Connecticut. That experience was my first taste of the "cultural immersion bug." I do not want to travel and see sights I really want to learn about and from cultures. I am an extremely laid back person when it comes to things going "wrong." I have always had the ability to go with the flow and not worry too much as everything seems to find a way to work out. I have yet to find my passion in life. Thus I am continuously at least reading about things that come my way and I even try a few of them, hence couchsurfing. I really enjoy connecting with people, although I love going to events and such I believe it really the people that make such events memorable.

PHILOSOPHY

This is the philosophy of the program that has sent me here to Germany. "It's not good. It's not bad. It's just different." My Dad always used to tell me. "It's your life do what you want, all I can do is tell you what I did and the consequences of my actions."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to this community so at the moment all I do is spread a positive word about couchsurfing being more than just a place to stay, more like a way of thinking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None at the moment. I am hoping to do plenty of surfing while I am Europe through the CBYX/PPP Programs.

Interests

Photography is probably my biggest interest of the moment. I also enjoy reading, nothing in particular usually just what is recommended by a friend. I usually enjoy going out to bars and hanging around a group of people just enjoying the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite type of music at the moment is Underground Hip-Hop. I.E. Little Brother, Talib Kweli, The Roots. I also listen to R&B, but of course I am not opposed to being introduced to new music. Two authors I have enjoyed are Paulo Coelho and Johnathan Tropper, but in general I have not found a favorite genre or type of book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the moment it is taking part in the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program. I have also driven the brand new 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class on the Autobahn.
