Overview
About Me
Hi there, I'm Coca (pronounced like Coca-Cola). I worked in summer camps and in outdoor education throughout uni, and became a travel guide once I graduated. I've worked on 5 continents leading all kinds of trips. Although I changed careers during the pandemic, travel will always be my favorite thing to do. I'm excited to show you around my hometown!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hostels, but nothing beats being shown around by a local. I've been lucky to make amazing friends all over the world who have opened their homes to me, and now that I'm no longer living out of a backpack, I'm excited to pay the favor forward. I'm excited to share California with you!
Interests
I love sports and being outdoors; I spend as much time as possible at the beach or in the mountains. My friends and I play pub trivia every week (you're welcome to join!), and I'm currently trying to pet every dog in the USA.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll listen to any kind of music live at a concert. I love action movies and comedies, and have quite a long reading list that I'm working through. Currently on my nightstand:
"Captain Corelli's Mandolin" by Louis de Bernières
"The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared " by Jonas Jonasson
"Night Train to Lisbon" by Peter Bieri
"The Covenant of Water" by Abraham Verghese
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working with baby elephants at the Royal Thai Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang, Thailand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a semi-professional friendship bracelet maker and good with knots, so I've got you covered if you need to rig a shelter or impress some children. I'd also be happy to help you practice Spanish, try surfing for the first time, or make a proper s'more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The easiest guest you'll ever have. Fun conversation, homemade breakfast, and a friendship bracelet in whatever colors you choose. I'd also love to return the favor when you eventually come visit me in southern California! ;)
