About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting like-minded people! My boyfriend is in the military which means I couldn't see him for 9 months so thought I would 'do me' and head to NZ for a working holiday to make the most of my time!

ABOUT ME

fun, adventurous, but also quite sensible when the need calls...
Ive been lucky enough to experience some fantastic travels all over the world with my family, and then on my own working in france, Ireland and Gran Canaria and wild camping and hitch-hiking all over the place. Then I decided to be a little bit sensible and went to university to study Occupational Therapy, before going down to Sussex to study for my masters in Wellbeing.

PHILOSOPHY

you're more likely to regret not doing something than you are to regret doing it, so I'm determined to make the most of all the time i have!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ive had the pleasure of experiencing the brilliance of couch surfing on so many occasions. Attending the weekly meeting in Perpignan was pretty sweet and we met loads of great people (one amazing girl who let us surf her couch for a few days). Everyone I have ever met through here has been absolutely wonderful and I am keen to continue meeting people with similar interests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have spent a lot of time Helpx-ing and couchsurfing around and met some really awesome people.
For me CS is not about free accommodation- its about meeting like-minded people wherever you are travelling and being able to really experience the place from a locals point of view. Also, listening to other peoples travels (for me) is experiencing their adventures vicariously through them :)

Interests

anything and everything! I love to read, write, watch movies, swim, run, hike, surf, and climb.
meeting new people, drinking rum, new experiences :)
I recently completed my masters thesis based on the mental health benefits of mountaineering, and am keen to get out in the mountains as much as possible whilst out in New Zealand. I love being outdoors, and cannot wait to be having a bbq on the beach here!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books might take a while to list! I love reading everything from Ken Follet, to Richard Dawkings- Oliver Sachs to J.K.Rowling...
At the moment im quite stuck into Game of Thrones :)
My taste is music and movies is just as eclectic, im happy to listen to most music but especially Ben Howard, Roo Panes, Sunset Sons, Nick Mulvey...

Best of all is hearing/seeing new things to get my teeth into.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

sleeping in caves in a volcanic crater, watching the vultures and crocodiles in senegal, paragliding, camels in bahrain, building mud houses in the pyrenees, hitch hiking the entire way from spain to cherboug on the north coast of france.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to learn anything about my homeplace (southern England) Im your girl! But having been around the world a fair bit I like to think I've got some interesting anecdotes, love cooking (ill bake the cakes!), surfing, and could teach you the harmonica?
