About Me

All I want is to have dreams and to live them. Like walking the Camino de Santiago, do bungee jumping in South Africa, cross the alps by foot, live at many different places in the world for a while, open my own bookstore-café, see the aurora, step on the moon and a thousand other things.
I'm really easy-going, open minded and independent. I'm studying history and cultural studies in Berlin and have spend one year at the university in Amsterdam. Whenever I'm visiting a country I want to know everything about the history and culture and hope to get a better understanding of the people through that.
Also, I'm interested in the political situations in the countries I'm visiting and see it as my mission to understand the world a little better by travelling to countries and listen to the people's stories and perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way to connect with people, especially locals, while travelling. By staying at a locals place the experience you get of the city or village or countryside or whatever is awesome, cause you can really get to know the lifestyle and the local manners of the place.
So far, my Couchsurfing experiences were great and each and every one of them is another reason to keep on surfing.
Though Couchsurfing I try to be less of a tourist and more of a traveller.

Interests

Travelling, books, experience new things, music (listening to it and try to play on my guitar), interesting people and their stories, art, museums, literature, history, different cultures, food (cooking as well as eating), hiking, climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Kite Runner, A thousand Splendid Suns, And the Mountains echoed, by Kahled Hosseini. These books are some of the most touching books I've ever read, and this is what makes a truly great book for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's not only one amazing thing I've done, there are plenty!
But the most amazing thing i guess was my backpacking tour through Asia. I've started in India, continued in Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos and flew back home from Thailand. It's only been 4 months, but these 4 months have been the best time of my life so far. I've always been surrounded by incredible people, travellers as well as locals, I've been to breathtaking places, i loved it just to drive around on a scooter, just go with the flow. Angkor Wat was one of my favourite places amongst a thousand others. 4 thousand Islands in Laos, Hampi in India, Lake Toba in Indonesia.. and so many more. But in the end it weren't the places or activities that made that time special, it were the people along my way that made it perfect.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn juggling! I can teach you how to fold an origami crane. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods and he'll be granted eternal good luck.
