CURRENT MISSION

Life is my classroom. I am spending all of my time learning new things and being outside.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy being outside. In fact, I prefer to spend every possible minute outside. Since August, 2011 I have been barefoot every occasion possible, and I hope to continue the trend for as long as I can. My reason: because I can. I enjoy breaking social norms, and often find myself doing ridiculous things just to prove a point. I consider myself easy-going, and love meeting new folks.

PHILOSOPHY

Human beings are capable of extraordinary things. We have no idea what our limit is, so why not reach for the stars? It's not worth it to be in a bad mood, so enjoy life and have fun no matter what.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will always have an open couch (or bed!), as I sleep in a hammock. However, being a student, I am not always in the same location. I am currently enrolled to begin courses at Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. This is an online program, so I will spend time traveling the U.S. until my undergraduate studies are finished!

I have stayed at a few houses, but have not yet hosted.

Interests

I enjoy making things with my hands, rather than buying them from a large corporation. I am always moving, whether it be running, biking, hiking, kayaking, etc. Music is a new passion of mine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to think about the past when I have so many cool adventures on my To Do list! If I had to pick some, I would say hiking the Haleakala Volcano crater would be towards the top of the list, as well as learning to sail on Lake Superior, farming in northern Wisconsin at North Wind Organic Farm, and there may be many more that I can't think of now.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I am always willing to learn anything. I will spend the rest of my life as a student, constantly learning new things.
I would love to give people barefoot walking lessons. I have a good background in sustainable agriculture and food systems, so I am willing to teach any cooking, baking, growing, and harvesting skills. There is always the opportunity of a philosophical discussion about anything in particular.
