About Me

I spent nearly four years backpacking around the world before finding my way back to the US. I’m by no means finished with traveling, though I am on a bit of a hiatus at the moment to get my finances in order. My new job moves me around California every 6 months or so, so I figured I’d hop back on Couchsurfing to see what’s going on in the area and when I have the space, host people as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I embarked on a trip around the world at the end of February in 2015. In my previous travels, I've found that the best way to experience a country and its culture is to spend as much time as possible with local people. Couchsurfing seems like the best way to do this. In the past 4 years, I've yet to use Couchsurfing to find a place to stay but I have met a few cool people going to events and meet ups. I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends by using it in the future.

Interests

I'm interested in pretty much anything that happens outdoors ; hiking, swimming, rock climbing, etc. I'm always open to doing new things and I find my interests change pretty regularly.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find my taste in music changes the same way my interests do. I'll listen to pretty much anything. With Netflix, I find my taste in movies the same way. I'll watch pretty much anything if it's good, but give me a deep, thought provoking movie over senseless explosions and forced one liners any day. As far as books go, anything from The Old Man and the Sea to Ready Player One. I finally got myself a kindle last year and managed to get through about 50 books by the end of the year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2017 I got it in my mind that I wanted to learn how to sail. Instead of doing sailing courses like any sane person, I managed to get a position as a crew member on a 47 foot sail boat and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on my very first voyage. I realized in the middle of a lighting storm about 1000 miles from any land that perhaps sailing wasn't my favorite thing in the world.
