About Me

I love to travel and I love to build things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host - I love sharing my city with people.

Surf - I've used CS on 4 continents now and have had nothing but amazing experiences.

Community - I've been to a handful of CS meetups and helped plan the 2012 Madison Couch Crash.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

1st CS experience was with Andrei and Pauline in Montpellier, France. This was an AMAZING first experience as these guys are seasoned CSers and really taught me a lot. I learned so much about how a lot of CSers travel - including hitchhiking, etc.

Here's a great story...
After leaving Andrei & Pauline's couch, I set off to Italy to tour around with my German friend. I was in line at the train station behind a guy on the western border of Italy and then, completely by accident, ran into him a week later on the eastern Italian border at a bus station. His name was Ivan. Due to this random 1/1M possibility, we chatted quite a bit and rode the bus to Slovenia together. Ivan turned out to be a couchsurfer, and we kept in touch. A year later, I ended up couchsurfing with him in Venezuela and he took care of me (and my friend) incredibly well, we could not have asked for a better host. He told us this story about these couchsurfers he met a week prior at the tip of Venezuela. When he said it was a French couple, I was curious and asked what their names were... Turns out it was Andrei and Pauline!

It's these kinds of stories that show you how small the world is and how connected you can be in tight-knit communities like couchsurfing.
