About Me

I was born and lived in Singapore for most of my life. I have lived in Malaysia for about half a year before, and had stays lasting 2 months in two parts of China (Wuhan, Weihai). I am an INFJ, if you're into MBTI personality profiling. I'm generally a neat and tidy person and a tad soft-spoken, but I love trying new things and have found myself picking up a variety of skills over the years. Some of which include, Aikido, piano, guitar, ukulele, unicycling, etc. I've also tried and taken an interest in longboarding and skating, but had to look into smaller things instead because my family felt I was bringing too many instruments/equipment/mobility devices into the house (I have a standing piano, a rather big guitar, an ukulele, two unicycles, a pull-up bar in my room, my gi and white to black belts from Aikido, and a blender and other cooking equipment at home.) Despite all that the bulk of things I brought home, I don't leave things lying around and each of them always go back to their designated place after use. While I might take some time to warm up to people, I'm always open to trying new things and meeting new people and especially like seeking the unconventional.

Philosophy:
- To be kind and respectful to everyone, regardless of species, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion etc.
- Make the best of your time alive before it runs out

Others:
- Vegan (because it's possible, and I can't make myself take from others when I have other options).
- Environmentally conscious (trying to cut down on my impact on the environment when I can because what we enjoy now is borrowed from our children. "A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children." - John James Audubon).
- Agnostic (I haven't decided on believing whether a higher divine power really exist or not, but I enjoy reading up on various religions and getting to understand why and what their believers believe).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To explore new places, meet new people and expose myself to new perspectives and cultures, and of course, because it's more economical. I would also like to have a local to talk to during my travels. I like the idea of meeting up with other people who feel the same about meeting new people regardless of whether they are locals or other travelers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, this isn't fair! The CS community consists of people who actively seek amazing experiences such that the bar for "amazing" has been set too high! I honestly don't have an experience I would consider "amazing" yet, but I hope to be able find that "amazing" thing to show for one day hahaha. I do have a wide variety of unconventional experiences though. I shall make it up with a unique experience instead. I ever went unicycling around town dressed up for Halloween with a group of other unicyclists.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some of the things I can teach are piano, guitar, unicycling and whatever languages I know. I'm not an expert in either of them, but I can definitely help you get a good start learning them.

I can share about what I know about Singapore's history and its infamous "Singlish" if you're interested. If you're a vegan/vegetarian visiting Singapore, I can introduce to you the best places to eat at, including naturally vegan local delicacies and deserts (enjoyed by both vegans and non-vegans). It's not difficult to find non-vegan places with vegan options in Singapore, so I can accompany you for meals as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My company: discussions on anime/manga, novels, outlook and philosophy of life, places I have visited etc, stories from Singapore, or my story, if you're interested (I didn't have a very normal school life and army life somehow, I just keep getting surprises hahaha).

My help in anything you'd like done around the house: I'm rather fit, so if you need help with any household chores, need an extra hand getting groceries etc, please feel free to ask me for help! I'd be especially willing to lend a hand, and we could share a conversation over doing such chores together too :)
