ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Max, coming originally from Germany. After living in many different places in Europe (Amsterdam, Munich, Leipzig, Essen, Düsseldorf, Hannover, London), I moved to the San Francisco in February this year, however since this is technically my first time in the states, I decided that it’s time for me to explore the rest of the states a bit more. So with the beginning of june I left my spot in SF and have been traveling ever since.
With all the places that I go to, I almost never have a plan or an agenda of what I want to do or see. I always try let the randomness of the universe take care of what is going to happen. I love making new friends, hearing their stories and partaking in their life.
I almost always have my camera on me and I’m typically taking pictures of whatever is happening around me, especially when I’m exploring a new place by getting lost and wandering in random directions.
Apart from my travels I'm a software developer by heart and trade and I work full-time, remotely for a German software company. So during the day you'll most likely find me in front of my laptop sitting in a cafe, coworking space or a random office.
PHILOSOPHY
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today, it's already tomorrow in Australia."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host as well as i surf. I try to spend as much time as possible with the people that I host or surf at. CouchSurfing to me is about the people rather than the free place too stay. (Whenever I travel for business or have predetermined plans, I book a place to stay on AirBnB or in a hostel)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted many, surfed several times and been to countless events. Many of the people that I've met via CouchSurfing have become close friends and I would as far as to say that CouchSurfing has changed my life in very profound ways.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Let's just say I love music and I don't discriminate by genre. I listen to music for about seven to ten hours every day
Books: I sort of keep track of my reading here on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1572102-maximilian
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Live is an amazing thing to experience, so if you enjoy every moment of your life (it obviously wont last forever) everything can be amazing.
However one of the most amazing things i have done was driving my motorbike (r6) on a racetrack (grüne hölle - green hell). It is somehow playing with your death and pure adrenalin. I love driving my bike and you pretty much wont understand it unless you've been to a racetrack.
Another amazing thing is this project. I love meeting new people, getting to know about different cultures and how people are living their lives. Getting inspiration for my own live. And i guess that is what couchsurfing is about. A place to stay, respectful cultural exchange and learning from each other.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a lot about computers and a fair bit about photography.
learn: you can teach something? great! i want to learn it.
share: couch! food. warm shower.. and if possible some time.
