ABOUT ME

I could say I'm a smiling person who laughs a lot. I'm trying to enjoy my life and try not to spend my time worrying about the little stuff.

I hold a Master's degree in cultural anthropology. Throughout my studies, I have been focusing in the area of Africa, also studied African studies in Bayreuth, Germany and did a long term ethnographic fieldwork in Northern Ghana.
I work as a social entrerpreneurship with Slovenia-Ghana connection. Beside that, I sew and make unique and colorful clothes, accessories and jewelry from African print fabric (AfriKatja).

In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, listen to good music, make music, photograph, playing saxophone in our orchestra, read a good book/article/blog etc. making different handicraft, spend time in nature and with my dog, plan my next trip etc.

I have visited over 40 countries so far. I love traveling. Mostly to Africa. Although I spent quite much time in dfferent African countries, my biggest dream is still to travel far and wide across Africa and do some anthropological fieldwork there. To experience new cultures, go there without prejudices and without expectation. To see a world in a different way. To understand it.

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy or not, personal or not - this is so true and I sympathize with it: "A man must travel. On his own, not through stories, pictures, books or TV. He’s got to travel by himself, with his eyes and feet, to understand what belongs to him. To plant his own trees one day and to value them. He must know the cold to enjoy the heat. And the opposite. Feel the distance and absence of shelter to feel well under his own roof. A man must travel to places that he does not know to break the arrogance that makes people see the world as they imagine it, and not simply as it is or can be. The arrogance that makes us teachers and doctors of what we have not seen, when we should only be students and simply go and learn." (Amyr Klink)
