ABOUT JACOB

Happy to Help! Nice guy who loves to speak Brazilian Portuguese (but makes do with his native American English). Married to Sarah, an amazing woman from the American east-coast. Enthusiastic about life.

I have a sarcastic dry sense of humor, and I love playing with words.

PHILOSOPHY

Honesty, Transparency, and Openness are keys to living today. I want to be kind, helpful, friendly, fun, respectful, tolerant, and supportive of/with others.

I believe there are awesome people in every faith, and I can learn from just about everybody. I go to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (ComeUntoChrist.org). Of course I know that couchsurfing is for couchsurfing, not "preaching". I'll answer questions if you ask, but I won't talk religion unless you want to. ;)

ABOUT SARAH
I love theatre, specifically musical theatre. I audition for shows whenever I can! However right now I am in school full-time to finish my Bachelor's this year, so no time for shows. I love to cook and paint and decorate cakes. I like learning about different cultures. I'm from all over, but I like to claim New England as home.

We have two beautiful boys who are full of energy and love to explore and learn and jump off of furniture. I find it fascinating to watch them grow and learn, though many times it freaks me out with how smart and intuitive they are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I (Jacob) used my move from UT to VA to finally try out CS. Now? I'm looking forward to more. My wife and I love to host people, and we're looking forward to surfing together on our next trip out of town. CS is awesome!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I (Jacob) surfed during my move from UT to VA. I have also CS in Europe when I was there for a tech conference. Experiences were awesome.

We have hosted several great people. It is great to get to know people from all walks of life. Such fun, interesting, and thought provoking conversation.

Brazilian Portuguese, reading or listening to books, building websites (Neos for the win!), entrepreneurship and business, thinking (ideas are awesome), space, sci-fi (Stargate & Star Trek), hero movies/shows, helping people, camping, hiking, rock-climbing, enjoying the outdoors, and of course traveling (I wish I had more time for all of these).

Sarah:

Jacob: Sci-Fi, Fiction Fantasy, Thriller (eg Hunger Games), Self-help (7 habits, GTD, etc), Religious (Bible, Book of Mormon, etc)
Sarah: Historical Fiction is my favorite genre. I also love reading cookbooks.
