About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After teaching math for over a decade, I decided to try a new career in real estate. The biggest advantage will be that I can work from anywhere in the world that has internet access so I am trying to find that happy balance between work and travel. Unfortunately, this current trip there has not been much work being done, but I am having a great time.

ABOUT ME

I am a pretty laid back person. I will rarely be the life of the party but I do have my moments. Most of the time I enjoy sitting around sharing a pint and having good conversations. If you visit the Marshall Islands I will take you out snorkeling and if you are certified we can do some SCUBA diving.

PHILOSOPHY

Before you can begin to appreciate the joys in life, you must first be happy with who you are. You cannot expect someone else to like and respect you if you do not like and respect yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a few people when I lived in the Marshall Islands, but for the most part haven't had a home for the last few years. I typically stay in hostels, but like meeting up with people for drinks. If we hit it off and a couch is offered then I am all for it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CouchSurfing experience was brilliant. I was traveling through Queensland, Australia and met Craig who let me stay at his place for a week which I thought was extremely generous. Went out for some drinks and he even attempted to teach me how to surf. It was a lost cause but I still enjoyed it.

Interests

I believe travel goes without saying on this site (even though I just said it). Most of my time in the US is spent sitting around a table having a couple of drinks with friends and occasionally playing poker. I am a math teacher so I do spend a decent amout of time doing logic puzzles when I am bored. I don't listen to much music unless it is a live concert. If you put me on a hiking trail I will be pretty happy even though I am currently not in the best of shape.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I pretty much listen to what is on. However if you look in my car you will see Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, The Beatles, RL Burnside, and Johnny Cash.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving in New Zealand over Lake Taupo which is possibly the most beautiful sight I have ever seen and spent three days SCUBA diving the Great Barrier Reef where I swam with sharks and some huge turtles. Both of which were absolutely amazing.
