ABOUT ME

I am a pathological traveler ! When the dust hits my shoes, I've got the urge to move !

I grew up in Germany and Vienna, Austria. Hit the road at 17 and was without a fixed abode or address for many many years, couchsurfing long before the site, or even the internet. Traveled for about 7 years in the Americas, then another five in Asia, before eventually making a base for a few years in Bali.

I love experiencing and encountering other cultures and traditions and am very interested in philosophy and comparative religion.

In the beginning 2007 I moved to the island of Stromboli, where I have been spending most of my summers since early childhood. Still hit the road for several months a year, so my couch is not always available.

At the moment I am involved in realizing my dream of a fire art gathering and festival on the ever active volcano I live on. I have been playing with fire for over ten years and am inviting the many friends in that field I have met over the years to come visit me for a creative holiday.

really enjoy hosting visitors to the magical little piece of earth I am blessed to call home. find the kind of people who choose to travel via cs especially interesting and outgoing and find the whole project a wonderful idea.

if I had to choose one, no I can't, probably witnessing a total solar eclipse, and being part of organizing a big festival around it....

or maybe taking part in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, in India in 2001, the largest gathering of people for a common purpose in history to date....

or being part of the longest running experiment exploring the combined possibilities of music, psychedelics and consciousness...

floating weightlessly amongst manta rays over the world's healthiest and diverse coral reefs in South East Sulawesi and the Molukkas...

or just seeing the volcano behind my house erupting lava hundreds of meters into the night sky whipped by lightening fromthe dense ash cloud surrounding it....
