About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be inspired on a daily basis!

ABOUT ME

Better if you come over and find out yourself...

PHILOSOPHY

I accept people as they are, and always look for positive things in this world.

I believe that there is no true evil - just misunderstood souls...

I also believe that life per se is the most fascinating thing there is! Vive la vie!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since registering, I hosted quite a few people, who stayed between one day and two weeks, and I enjoyed every single moment of that time! I try to show as much as possible of my town and country to those who travel through and are interested in learning more about our culture and way of life. Also, I gladly provide information to those who want to visit this area.
So far I had few experiences as a surfer, and the hospitality of my hosts made my travels very special.
Furthermore, I use couchsurfing as a great source of information for independent travelers, as everyone is sincerely eager to help fellow travellers with advice and suggestions.

Since I am so impressed with this whole idea, I am spreading the word and trying to involve others to take part. This is an article published in Montenegrin daily newspaper Vijesti on CS:

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far amazing! It is turning my life upside down. In a good way, of course!
If once I thought world was too big, scary and inaccessible, now I see that it is actually full of like-minded people mingling around and erasing borders, making the whole planet look like a cosy place where you will feel welcome wherever you go...

And thanks to CS, I am only one degree of separation from Chuck Norris!

Interests

Hiking - I go hiking whenever I can, and I always try to drag along as many people as possible, so I can share the passion for nature with them. With a friend, I started organising hiking and trekking tours around Montenegro (check out Montenegro phototrekking on Facebook), to which CSurfers are welcome!

Books and reading. I just love that hangover-like feeling you get from reading a good book.

Photography - I love photographing nature, but am also trying to show to the others Montenegro the way I experience it. Check out my photos on: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mvugdelic/

Tango - Although I still have loads to learn, I love dancing in a tango embrace to the sounds of bandoneon...One of the reasons why I visited Buenos Aires.

Handcrafts - So much better than watching television. You can see my creations on: http://www.flickr.com/photos/makilicreations/

Music - I can play piano and a mouth harmonica. Started learning to play a violin. Maybe you can help me?

Showboarding - still a beginner, but all those falls don't put me down!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked on saving one endangered spider species

Was chief of rangers in National Park Skadar Lake. I commanded a squad of 25 men and went into the field to catch poachers and other wildlife-hating bastards!

Organised hiking tours and guided thousands of people in mountains.

Visited Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, which felt like being on another planet!

Gave a TEDx talk on why all of us should be ecologists (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fJWoSKQjGpc)

Teach, Learn, Share

- If you got a digital camera, and never turn the dial from the Auto mode, then I can teach you what all those other buttons and options are for, so you can use them to improve your photos
- I am pretty good with Photoshop, so do ask me 'bout that
- I can show how to work with polymer clay
- I know a thing or two about ecology/evolution/biology, so if you care about any of that and want to know how to be responsible in nature, I will gladly share the knowledge...

Would love to learn to play a violin and to improve Spanish and Arabic. And anything else, really, as I am always looking for new stuff to absorb...
