I am a backpacker from California. I work half the year making and selling wine in the Napa Valley to save up money and spend the rest of the year exploring. My plan is to visit a different continent each year and view the whole kaleidoscope of human experience.

My degree is in philosophy so I'm always observing and contemplating different cultures, their values, how they view themselves, their criterion for happiness and hopefully gaining the confidence to decide that how I live and feel is more important than what I do or present to others.

In October my buddy Keelan and I finished working the grape harvest in the Douro Valley of Portual, we strapped our surfboard and guitar to the roof of our car, and roadtripped 3000 miles through Portugal, Spain, France, Monaco, Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily in 5 weeks. We split ways and I took the ferry to Tunisia to begin my dream of backpacking around Africa. Over the next six months I hope to meet amazing people along the way that will turn this trip into an adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel like the difference between travelling and touring is feeling and seeing. I like to spend a little more time getting know a place and its people. Rocking up to hostels is fun but I would love the opportunity to meet locals, practice the language, and really get to feel the vibe of the culture and country.
