About Me

I'm a very easy-going guy so "go with the flow" is kind of my theme. I keep my head in the clouds, nose in the books, ear to the ground, and mouth usually stuffed with food (preferably chocolate). I've recently picked up photography as a new hobby so any tips are greatly appreciated! Any way if you think you can help me travel to cool places, drink new beer, eat new food, listen to good music, or stimulate me with great conversation then by all means lets chat and possibly get together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've recently completed my Master's in Clinical Psychology and in celebration, I've decided to drop everything and travel with a good college friend of mine. I feel as if I need to live my own life for a bit, have some experiences, see the world, and meet new people before I settle down and join the work force. I've yet to truly travel anywhere or do anything big , so I'm hoping this will change in the near future. I'm always looking for new friends and adventures to embark on, so if you think you can help me out then let's chat!

Our travel itinerary is as follows:
Amsterdam- 7/3/15 to 7/6/15
Brussels- 7/6/15 to 7/8/15
Paris- 7/8/15 to 7/11/15
Rome- 7/11/15 to 7/14/15
Florence- 7/14/15 to 7/16/15
Cinque Terra- 7/16/15 to 7/18/15
Venice- 7/18/15 to 7/21/15

Anything after is up in the air. Please, if you have any suggestions for sights to see, places to say, or things to do I would welcome all information! Again, it's our first trip so we'll need all the insight we can get :D

Here is a link leading to my friend Matt's profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2001124019

Matt and I go back a few years to meeting in college; he is the former class president of our university and he has definitely left his mark there. After you meet him you understand why; he's genuinely a kind man with a good heart, and always a lot of fun. I'm sure we're both going to create great memories together and hopefully with our hosts as well! Feel free to contact him after viewing my profile in order to get to know us both.

Interests

Photography has become a big hobby of mine recently, especially nature photos. I love to read and enjoy having in depth conversations. I like to think of myself as slightly insightful considering my psych background, but I'm no Socrates or anything ha. I can get a bit nerdy about my video games and television shows, and I'm also an active guy; I suppose you could call me a gym rat. But truly, I'm trying to discover more interests and I know with more travel comes more exposure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I made this section a long time ago. I'll have to update it soon. Also, any book recommendations are ALWAYS appreciated.

Books: Catcher in the Rye, anything by Michael Crichton, the Sparrow, Slaughterhouse V, Game of Thrones, the classics (Illiad and Odyssey, Great Expectations, Ulysses, etc.), A Thread of Grace, many others
Movies: Matrix, American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Brick, No Country for Old Men, ANYTHING by Wes Anderson or Quentin Tarantino
Shows: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Home Movies, Workaholics, Parks and Rec, Community...again there's a whole bunch
Music: Anything, but not the biggest country fan
Food: ANYTHING....except pickles (unless they're on a burger, otherwise no thanks) and cole-slaw (not my cup of tea)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've yet to embark on any wild adventures, but I did fly in a military jet during a mid-air refueling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have much to give, but what I do have I am willing to share. I'd love to converse on any subject and perhaps teach others about clinical psychology and what it entails. We also brought a few containers of a unique American spice called Old Bay. It goes great with a plethora of dishes and we'd love to give them out to friends and generous hosts
